Note: Open Studio Nights (in person at Davis Hall) are back until the Fair starts! 


May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; June 5, 12, 19, 26 Wed, 2:00-8:00 pm: Open Studio (Davis Hall on the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds) 

Open Studio is resuming after conclusion of Ice Alaska in our usual location. It’s Fairbanks’ premier crafting meetup! Bring a project, bring a snack – donations are welcome. On May 8 there will also be a board meeting at 6:30 pm.

May 4, Sat, 1:00-4:00 pm: Calypso Farm Sheep and Wool Day

May 9, 16, 23, Thu, 5:30 pm: Spinning in Color Workshop (Calypso Farm)

Work on your wool blending to create beautiful colorful yarn. Fee: $60 + $30 materials fee (pay-what-you-can discounts are available). Register here.


May 11, Sat, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm: Art and Craft Supply Sale (at the Folk School, Pionneer Park, Cabin 66)

May 25, Sat, 12:00-3:00 pm: Spinning Wheel Musical Chairs and Tea Party

Other Fiber Opportunities Around Town
  • Visit our fabulous local yarn store: Yarn Over! They have a knit night on Wednesdays starting around 5:00 p.m.
  • Check out the Fairbanks Folk School and Calypso Farms
  • Join the Knit Night at the Ester Library, Tuesdays from 3:00 to 7:00. Library is across and slightly up the hill from The Golden Eagle
